Process Parameter Screening for the Microalga <i>Chlamydomonas asymmetrica</i> in Batch and Turbidostat Cultivations

Abstract Algae offer tremendous potential for the production of various high‐value products (HVPs). Besides light quantity and quality, factors such as temperature, medium composition, pH, aeration are important algae‐specific process parameters that influence growth behavior their chemical composition. Screenings algae HVPs ongoing, but available data cultivability suitability organisms limited. Turbidostat processes enable a simple fast screening light‐specific influences, constant biomass concentrations will result in self‐shading. Here, microalgae Chlamydomonas asymmetrica was cultivated cylindrical photobioreactor modules. A detailed characterization temperature dependency organisms' is provided.
